Our Trustees

Clare is the Chair of the Masterclass Trustees.  She is a lifelong learner committed to improving the life chances of disadvantaged young people.

Clare's journey through education speaks to this passion, as she attended an underperforming state school but went on to study at Jesus College, Oxford University.  

She spent 10 years teaching English in South East London secondary schools in various leadership roles, including Assistant Headteacher.  Clare left the classroom in 2018 for further postgraduate study.

Jemal is an experienced leader and mentor. He currently works in secondary education, specialising in inspiring and improving the futures of young people, especially black boys. 

Beyond the school context, Jemal has been instrumental in community projects.  He is a gifted speaker and motivates people from all walks of life to achieve their potential. 

Jemal brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Masterclass Trustees.

Phu was born in Vietnam and moved to the UK when she was 5 years old. Her parents wanted her to have a better life and education abroad.  

Without speaking a word of English and raised in a non-English speaking household, she was able to make it through school and university. She graduated at Brunel University in 2005 with a Business Management and Computing degree.

Phu had a great support network which included family, friends and teachers.  She understands the importance of having these support hubs and if it wasn't for their encouragement, she would not be where she is today.

One of the reasons she is supporting this charity is because she can see the value the initiative can have on young people.

Phu is now working for a large rental company in the film industry as Project Manager.

 Wesley is a Senior Analytics professional with over 6 years of experience in eCommerce, data analytics and digital marketing.

He is the founder of a consulting company, Walker Analytics Ltd, which provides data analytics consultancy to small, medium and large companies all over the world, such as Unilever.

Wesley started his career as a digital marketing apprentice at a small agency and through various roles worked his way up to managing digital analytics functions in large companies from the age of 22.

Wesley joins Masterclass as he is passionate about education and strongly believes, as Malcolm X once put it, that “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Masterclass ultimately raises the ambitions of young people and this is a cause that is close to his heart.
